Shortly after, she moved back to Canada to be with her mom and family. Once here, she moved to Grande Prairie and started her new life cooking and helping build her community. She met her true love, Darrell Zahnd and they build a life camping, side-by-siding, and fishing. She enjoyed family time, camping, and fishing. The impact she had on people around her and her community was tremendous.
In 2013, she retired from the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen after caring for and being present for homeless, transient, and marginalized people for approximately 19 years. Linda was a one-of-a-kind, compassionate, and loyal daughter mother, sister, and grandma. She will be missed and cherished by many and all who loved her.
