In loving memory of Mr. Lawrence “Lornie” Benoit who passed away peacefully at his residence in Chamberlain Twp., after a lengthy battle of side effects from diabetes, on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the age of 83.
Lornie was born on September 13, 1936 in Kirkland Lake, ON to the late Ronald and Gladys Benoit.
He is survived by his wife loving wife of 55 years Rolande (nee Loiselle); his children Ronald, Jeanne (Johnny), Tony (Elisa) and Patty (Dave). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Zachary, Jesse, R.J., Colin, Christopher, Anthony, Melissa, Austin, Alyssa, Delaynee and his great grandchildren Kovey, Dallas, Cohen, Madeline and Marcus.
Lornie was a diesel mechanic/welder by trade. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, especially with grandsons. He had a great appreciation for the outdoors and his pets. Loved visiting his dear friends. Enjoyed delivering “Meals on Wheels”. And enjoyed donating money for good causes such as kids and animals. “Buddy” will be sadly missed by family and friends.
In keeping with Lornie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A “Celebration of Life ” service will be determined at a later date in the Spring. In memory contributions to the Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation will be greatly appreciated. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.mcdonaldfuneralhome.ca.
