Laurence Anthony Carr Monday December 23rd 2019

Laurence Anthony Carr passed away peacefully on December 23, 2019 at the Ottawa Heart Institute at the age of 67. After a lengthy stint in the cardiac ICU, Laurence did not fight a battle with death, but bravely embraced whatever adventure awaits beyond. On his best days, Laurence reminded us that happiness was only a soccer ball away and that if you can’t find shin guards, some rolled-up newsprint will do just fine.
Loving husband of Eva, caring father to Jennifer, Tanya (Erin), Tommy (Shannon), Natacha (Dan), Eoin (Cierra) and step-father to James and Lash. Brother of Lesley (Randy) Todd and Robert (Bonnie) Carr. Grandad to Dylan, Noah, Jayden, Gracie, Grayson and Ellis. Uncle to several nieces and nephews, friend to the Burton family. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Peggy Carr.
A huge Manchester United fan, Laurence did his best not to miss watching a match. He could often be found happily perched in front of his television yelling obscenities at the opposing team. His love for the game of soccer led him to a lifelong passion to play, coach and mentor boys and girls.
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors of the ICU at the Ottawa Heat Institute and the Brockville Dialysis Clinic for the care Laurence received.
Family and friends may pay their respects at Prescott Fire Hall 302 Centre St. Prescott, ON from 1:30 pm to 4 pm on Sunday December 29th, 2019. Donations to Prescott & District Soccer Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family
