It is with great sadness the family of Joseph Pocker announce his passing at the age of 93.
Joseph was predeceased by his sister Anna and her husband Louis Selyem, as well as a sister and brother in Hungary.
Joseph (son of Elizabeth and Joseph Pocker), was born in Tatatovaros, Hungary and spent all his life with horses starting at a very early age. He was a jockey and assistant trainer. Later, he helped Anna and Louis with their horses at the Assiniboia Down for many years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Elizabeth (Joseph), his grandchildren Thomas and Veronica, nephew Joseph (Ilona), nieces Agnes (Peter), Nora and Peti, Kate (Tibi), Ginny (Brijesh), Carrie and Kati (Alex).
The family thanks Springfield Place in OakBank and Betel Home in Selkirk where he spent his last years and was looked after very well.
A private funeral will take place.
