Obituary for John Oosterling
John Alex Oosterling, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully at the CKHA-Public General Campus on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the age of 83. John is the son of the late Johannes Marinus & Angelique Marie (D’Hooghe) Oosterling. Beloved husband of Dusty (McFadden). Loving father of Janine O’Neil (Paul) and Jamie Cartier (Curly Clarke). Dear grandfather of Lee O’Neil (Sandy), Taryn Rabideau (Jeremy), Sarah Cartier (Lyndsay) and Lindsey Roosendaal (Andrew) and great grandfather of Liam, Lucas, Quinn, Zachary, Logan, Dylan, Jack and Ella. Brother of Betty Rupert (John). He will be missed by his many nieces & nephews. John was a friend of Bill W. He worked for MetLife for over 16 years and owned Towne Squire Men’s Wear in Wallaceburg. John was a champion at trap shooting and was asked to join the Canadian Olympic Team. He loved to golf and fish and make people laugh. In his later years he enjoyed sitting on his front porch, waving to people passing by, with a sparkle in his eye. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Friday from 10 – 11 AM. A private family funeral will follow. Interment in Riverview Cemetery at a later date. If desired, remembrances to PAWS may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231. Online tributes may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca
