John Lorne Winegard Sr Friday December 6 2019

WINGARD, John Sr.
May 11, 2019 – December 6, 2019
Passed away as the result of a stroke at the Parkview Meadows L.T.C. facility in Townsend. John is now reunited with his wife Doris (2009). Proud father of John and Nancy, Stan and Nadine, Jerry, Ron and Karen. Grandfather to Kathleen, Kristy, Jacqueline, Jeff, Tim, Barrie, Ben, Heather, Erin and Brandon and sixteen great grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters-in-law, Viola Adams and Bernadine Adams, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John co-founded Wingard Motors of Caledonia in 1946 with his late father Bill and proudly helped it grow to the stature that it has become today, while at the same time coaching minor baseball and enjoying golfing and curling. John and Doris took pleasure in their travels together and their winters in Florida with friends and family. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2019 in the Caledonia Lions Hall (100 Haddington St. Caledonia, ON), from 2 – 4 p.m. which will be preceded by a grave side service and committal in the Caledonia Cemetery at 1 p.m. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Liz Jones and the staff of the Riviera Retirement Lodge and the staff of Parkview Meadows for all of the care and kindness shown to John during his residence over the last ten years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to MILLER FUNERAL CHAPEL, Caledonia.
