Terry, Jean Bessie Viola (Stewart), (1929-2019) Truro, formerly of North River, passed away suddenly on December 13, 2019. Born in Nuttby, N.S. she was the youngest daughter of the late George and Catherine “Cassie” (Tattrie) Stewart. She is survived by sons; Stewart “Stew” (Marilyn) Terry, John (Janice) Terry; grandchildren, Jennifer Terry, April (Chris) Teed, Blair (Derek) Weber, Adam Terry (Sarah Bagnell), Julie Terry (Kenton Breaden) and Alex Terry; great-grandchildren, Justin Armitage (Sam Brown), Haley Teed, Odin and Wes Weber and great great granddaughter, Ana, as well as many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Terry (1920-1986) as well as six brothers and three sisters. She was the last remaining member of her family. Jean had a large, generous heart and was beloved by many as was evident at her recent 90th birthday, attended by more than 100 guests. She was known to many as “Nanny Jean,” which always made her day. Jean remained an energetic, happy and healthy woman until her last day. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 12th from 2-4 pm in the North River Fire Hall, North River. Spring interment in the West Branch Cemetery, North River. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
