Obituary of Ian Martindale
MARTINDALE, Ian: Ian Martindale of Grand Bend, age 92, on Friday, December 27, 2019 passed away peacefully at Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 64 years M. Elaine (MacFarlane) Martindale. Ian is the much loved father and father-in-law of Debora and John Bonner of London, Laura and Rick Reinhard of Dundas, Robert and Sylvia Martindale of McDonalds Corner. Cherished grandpa of Ryan, Richard, Christine, Andrea, Amanda and Victoria. Treasured great-grandpa of Ella and August. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Donald and Barbara Martindale of Scotland, Cora MacFarlane of Alberta, Rev. Marvin MacFarlane of St. Catharines and Jackie Giguere of Belleville. Predeceased by his parents Robert Henry and Isabella (Dunbar) Martindale, brother Jim Martindale, brothers-in-law Jim MacFarlane, Jim Giguere and Donald MacFarlane, sisters-in-law Doreen MacFarlane and Diane MacFarlane. At Ian’s request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. John’s By-the-Lake Anglican Church, Grand Bend on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 2 pm. The Rev. Jim Innes Officiant. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to St. John’s By-the-Lake Anglican Church or Jessica’s House would be appreciated by the family.
