Obituary of Helen Mary Patterson
PATTERSON, Dr. Helen Mary (Ph.D. Musicologist Medieval Studies) – late in the evening of Friday, December 20th, 2019, Helen Patterson was Promoted to Glory, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. Beloved daughter of Captain Sally Patterson of The Salvation Army and the late Captain Bill Patterson, dear sister to Michael Patterson, Carol Patterson and Beverley Voisin (Steven) and fondly remembered by her niece Jocelyn, and nephews Spencer and Jeremy. In addition Helen will be remembered by a loving extended family in Northern Ireland and many dear friends around the world. The family has been so blessed with the support of the Belleville Corps family and a wide community of people who have extended condolences and support towards them and especially prayers on their behalf! The family is very grateful to the medical staffs at Belleville General Hospital and Kingston General Hospital. Helen shared her life experience and ministry with all those who came to know her. Helen was kind and the essence of a Christian living that truth with a focus of helping others, as a Registered Nurse, Musician and an Academic. Plans will be made to remember Helen in the New Year at The Salvation Army Belleville Community Church (date and time to be announced on the Steele Funeral Home website, www.steelefuneralhome.ca). If desired, memorial donations can be made in honour of Helen to a local program that supports those in need in your community. Arrangements were entrusted to Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (613-968-2273).
