Nécrologie
George (György) Farkas
November 10, 1952 (Miskolc, Hungary) – December 16, 2019 (Ottawa)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Farkas. He passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on Monday December 16th with his family by his side.
Selfless, supportive, genuine and always sincere – He left us far too soon and will be deeply missed and loved forever.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son Gabor (Rita) and his life partner Kalina (Julia, Theo, Freddie). He was a caring brother to Eva and Tibor and a beloved son of late Maria Batta and Imre Farkas.
George had a lifelong passion for learning and reading – and a love of electronics, running, track & field, and the simple things in life.
George enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved music and no event can be without music by Beatles, CCR, Elvis, Boney M, and Buddy Holly just to mention a few of his favorites.
A Celebration of George’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Words of Remembrance at 1:00pm. Pinecrest Solarium, 2500 Baseline Rd. Ottawa
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation (Liver.ca) in George’s memory would be greatly appreciated.
(Donation cards will also be available during the reception)
