Obituary for Mrs. Galina Anna Morkunas
Galina Morkunas, of Wasaga Beach, Ontario, passed away on Friday, November 29th, 2019, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. Galina was born in Kaunas, Lithuanian and emigrated to Toronto, Canada as a young adult. She spoke several languages and enjoyed the company of friends from all walks of life. Galina had various occupations until she found her calling, and opened her own esthetics studio in downtown Toronto. There she met many clients who also became friends. After the death of her husband, she retired to Wasaga Beach to be closer to her youngest daughter and grandchildren. Galina is predeceased by her husband Vladas Morkunas, her parents Jonas and Sofia Vaitkus, brother Luidgardas Vaitkus and her sister Grazina Vaitkus. She is survived by her daughters Ramune Tyndall (Greg Tyndall) and Lina Valickis (Tadas Valickis), her beloved grandchildren Majal Tyndall, Aleksandras Valickis and Jazmina Valickis, her brothers Algirdas Vaitkus (Mirga), Gediminas Vaitkus and cherished nieces and nephews. How lucky are we to have loved—and been loved by—someone that made saying goodbye so hard.
As per Galina’s wishes, there will not be a funeral but rather a celebration of life that will be held at a later date.
