MITCHELL, Barbara Anne
Quietly and peacefully slipped away surrounded by her family’s love at Iler Lodge, Es on November 30, 2019. Dear daughter of the late Emile “Bud” (1977) and Norene (Kavanagh) (1998). Devoted sister Jim & Elaine (2017), Norene “Sis” (2010) & Don (2003) Hartman, Donnie (2019) & Val, Shirley (1948), Sharron & Ken Youngson, Ron & Dee, and Robert (1997). Just Barb “don’t call me aunt” to Becky & Chris Leyte, Sandra Hartman, Nicky Mitchell, Jenny Mitchell (1983), Stephanie Mitchell & Phil Whitfield, Peter & Karen Youngson, Darrell Hartman, Scott Mitchell, Eric Youngson (2006) and Ian & Christel Youngson. Great Barb to Devan & Mitchell Leyte, Isaac & Elora Whitfield, Alexander, Erica & James Youngson, Dakota & Montana Mitchell and Brandon & Breanna Meisner. Barb will be fondly remembered by her extended family, cousins, friends and former co-workers. To know her was to love her. She retired from Canada Post in 2006 after 35 years of service. She loved her sports including baseball, football (Go Blue!) and golf, having started a ladies league at Dominion Golf Club. But most of all, Barb loved her family and friends including her family at Iler Lodge. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Iler Lodge for their love and dedication to Barb’s care over these past 5 years. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 87 Maidstone Avenue East, Es (519-776-4233) on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. Fr. Dave Boutette officiating. As a tribute to Barb, please wear your favourite sports team jersey. If desired, memorial donations made to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
