SHEPHERD, Barbara (nee Gorrie) – Passed away peacefully on Friday December 20, 2019 in the Stroke Ward at Brantford General Hospital. Mrs. Barbara Shepherd of Simcoe at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Dale Shepherd (1989). Loving mother of Christine Shepherd and the late Mark Shepherd (1969). Dear sister of Margot Hickling (Bill) and the late Ron Gorrie (Della). Barbara will be sadly missed by many other relatives, friends, and her grand kitty Tiny Bubbles. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church, Simcoe for almost 60 years, she was very active in her community over the years as a volunteer with the Caring Cupboard, First Baptist Church Library, Norfolk General Hospital Library, Walsh Public School, Norfolk General Hospital Auxiliary and Rural Life Missions. Friends are invited to visit on Friday December 27th, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the FERRIS FUNERAL HOME, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe (519-426-1314). Barbara’s funeral service will be held on Saturday December 28th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 129 Young St. Simcoe. Reverend Darrell Maguire officiating. Private interment Oakwood Cemetery, Simcoe. If so desired, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Lynn Valley Trail Association.
