Chapman, Albert Leslie – Age 80 of Richmond (Malagash), passed December 13, 2019 in Amherst. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Ward and Phyllis (Anderson) Chapman. Albert worked for the Department of Transportation for more than 30 years. He like hunting and fishing and was a member of the Pugwash Ground Search and Rescue for 40 years and was the caretaker of Monument Hill Cemetery for many years. Surviving are his sons, Kevin (Cindy) and Stephen (Cathy Veno); granddaughters, Sonya, Brittany and Haley; great granddaughters, Leah and Paige; brothers, Melvin (Carolyn) and Bedford (Brenda); sister, Flora (Richard) Smith; nieces and nephews; aunts, Marguerite Sellars and Doreen (Blair) Atkinson; and Ward Smith who was like a son to Albert and a brother to Kevin and Stephen. He was predeceased by his wife, Nina (Halverson) and a son, Leslie. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 19 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. No visitation by request. Burial will be a later date in Monument Hill Cemetery, Richmond. Memorial donations to Monument Hill Cemetery would be appreciated.
