Maurice Joseph Oliver Corbeil (Corbeil)
Moe passed away peacefully at the Montfort Hospital on November 23, 2019 at the age of 93.
Predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Jacqueline (née Legault-Barsalou), his parents Hormidas Corbeil and Rose-Alma (née Calvé), and five brothers and three sisters.
Cherished step-father of Louise (Dr. J-P DesGroseillers) and Nicole (Mike Church). Loving grandfather of Christine (Peter Lorenz), Richard (Sonia Lefrebvre), Dr. Eric (Dr. Annie Filion) and Tanya Church (Wes Rosa). Great grandfather of Karl, Brigitte, Margaux, Jacob and Amélie. Much loved uncle of Denis (Joanne) and granduncle to Anik (Dave Welsh) and Stéfanie (Graeme Simpson); great-granduncle to Annabelle. Also well loved by his niece Susan Campbell (Patrick Tourigny). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

While working in Health and Welfare Canada, Maurice was responsible for the purchase of large quantities of medical supplies and equipment for the purpose of assembling numerous emergency medical units. In 1966 and 1967, the Canadian Government approved the distribution of 20 of these units to South Vietnam. Maurice was responsible to locate and deliver these hospitals throughout the country. Shortly after the war between Nigeria and Biafra, Maurice accompanied 10 more emergency hospitals for distribution in both war torn areas.
A private family Celebration of Moe’s Life will be held at a later date. Donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
