Mary Carlotta “Tots” Cordy

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Mary Carlotta “Tots” Cordy, age 91, of Florence. Carlotta passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
Daughter of Theodore and Rose Porter, Carlotta spent a great deal of her childhood running around with her siblings on Black Point. As an avid outdoorswoman, she embraced a variety of activities in nature. Carlotta enjoyed her career as an early childhood educator, and devoted herself to the St. Stephen’s Church choir. She will be remembered as a wonderful housewife, loving mother, and adoring grandmother.
Carlotta was predeceased by her parents, 6 brothers, 4 sisters, her husband Gordon Cordy, sons Gordy, Mike, and Ricky, and her companion Earl. She will be greatly missed by her brother Chuck, daughters, Ellen (Paul), Carla (Matt), Suzanne (Tony), Rosemary (David), her 21 loving grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 13th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 10 am at Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Jim Oliver officiating.
