Obituary
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Dearest husband and best friend of Gail. Predeceased by his parents Grace and Jim McKenzie. Loving father of Scott (Desiree) and Jeanette (Mark) and dear stepfather to Todd, Terri (Tim) and Tricia (Troy).
Cherished and devoted grandfather to
Kyra, Logan, Jacob, Cohen, Marshall, Hannah, Holli, Andrew, Adam, Stephanie, Rachel and Aiden.
Jim will be missed by his loving siblings Keith (Sheila) Barb (Pete) Bruce and Steve (Kim) and his many nephews and nieces.
Jim was a proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police. Starting his career in 1966. Having served from the Whitby detachment for the first 10 years covering the Durham region and Port Perry. Moved onto the special intelligence force serving out of Pearson International Airport. Finally settling into the Orillia detachment before retiring to his happy place at the cottage on High Lake in 1994.
Those that knew and loved Jim were all fortunate enough to be part of his life through the stories he told.
In Lieu of flowers, donations to Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
At Jim’s request cremation has taken place. There will be no service at this time but a celebration of Jim’s life will be held in the spring 2020.
Special love and thanks to Ken and Molly Leach for their kindness and support over the last few months.
Tremendous appreciation to the quality of support and care from Dr. Adamson, Dr. Hemens and the amazing palliative care nurses at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital.
