Obituary of Henny Schieven
SCHIEVEN, Henny
A kind and caring heart stopped beating peacefully on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, while in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Dearly loved by her husband George of 62 years. Sadly missed by her children Gordon Schieven (Irene), Arlene Schieven, Pam McDonald. She will be remembered by her grandchildren Larissa (Rob), Luke (Mel) and Cole. Her fun-loving spirit will be missed by her sisters Willy Drost (John), Gerrie Ainley, Sini Drost (2018) (Joost), and Joan Van der Schaaf (Tom 2014). Henny will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, the Winkel Clan, Craig McDonald and the Yardleys. Henny enjoyed a lifetime of learning, she loved listening to and playing music, became an accomplished quilter, read hundreds of books and spending time outdoors, especially at the cottage in Muskoka. Special thanks to her friends of the Erie Shores Quilters Guild for their generous support and kindness and many friends and neighbours in the community. The family wishes to express their appreciation to her healthcare team for their wonderful care and support in her home. The family welcomes you to visit at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street, Leamington (519-326-2631) on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. George and family invite you to join in our Celebration of Henny’s Life on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with visiting 1 hour before at Knox Presbyterian Church, 58 Erie Street South, Leamington.
