Baatz, Guenter:
Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Heidi for 29 years. Loving father to Sylvia Caudle (Ron) and Veronica Outhwaite (Eric) and step father to Kersten Krueger (Iris-Patricia) and Thorsten Krueger (Julia). Cherished Opa to Matthew Caudle (Shannon), Michelle Caudle (Chris) and Monica Caudle. Survived by his brother, Reinhard (Brigitte) in Germany. He will also be remembered by his family in Germany. Predeceased by his first wife, Margarete (1987) and his brothers, Heinz and Wolfgang.
The family would like to thank Dr. Martin and her staff at the Grand River Cancer Centre as well as Dr. Marhong and his ICU staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Private cremation has taken place.
Guenter’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 28th, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation – Cancer Centre or the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
