December 20th, 1931 – November 20th, 2019
Ellen June Palmer, aged 87 years of Moose Jaw, SK passed away at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 20th, 2019, with family by her side. Ellen was born on a farm east of Stewart Valley, SK to Julius and Ruth Moen. She was one of twelve children. Ellen took her nursing training at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital and graduated in 1954. She was predeceased by her parents, Julius and Ruth Moen; in-laws, JC and Mary Palmer; brothers: Orville Moen (Gene), James Moen, Bennie Moen, and Raymond Moen; sisters: Mabel Rindahl (Ralph), Clarine Furseth (John), Gertie Johnson (Oscar), and Murial Pederson (Clinton); and brother-in-law, Robert Palmer (Margaret. Ellen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Murray Palmer; sons: Stu Palmer (Kusum), Garth Palmer (Kim), and Jay Palmer (Essie); seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Moen (Renetta); sisters, Agnes Millang (Lester) and Edith Kononoff (Wally); sister-in-law, Gladys Moen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the following for Ellen’s care: Dr. F.B. Ramadan, Dr. G.B. Van Heerden, Dr. A.J. Van Heerden, the staff of the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital, Moose Jaw Home Care, and Moose Jaw & District EMS. In keeping with Ellen’s wishes, a Private Family Service will be held. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Ellen’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9.
