COLP, Calvin
Murray – 83, Whynotts Settlement, passed away at home on November 28,
2019, surrounded by his family. Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the
late Murray and Alma (Rhodenizer) Colp. Calvin had a varied career,
mainly working in the ship building industry and as a mechanic. He was
very proud of his service in the Black Watch. He was an accomplished
musician and a member of the South Shore Blue Grass Assoc. and he
loved life and had a great sense of humour. He is survived by his wife
of 61 years, Christine; daughters Mary Jane (Rob) Elliott, Port Hope
Ontario, Terry Lynn (Thomas) Robar, Whynotts Settlement; sons Chris,
Caledon, Ontario, Lee Scott (Brenda) Colp, Bridgewater; sister Anna
Hull, Bridgewater; brothers Rupert (Betty), Whynotts Settlement,
Clarence (Susanne), Quesnel British Columbia; grandchildren Jennifer
(Mike), Shane (Melanie), Lee (Denise), Christopher (Vanessa), Shane
(Crystal), Brandon; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his
parents he was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Mary and
brother-in-law Lindsay Hull.
A graveside memorial service will be held
11am Wednesday December 4 in Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Grove, Reverend
Willis Ott officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society, SHAID Animal Shelter, or a charity of your choice.
