Obituary of Brian Gustav Hansen
HANSEN, Brian Gustav
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our brother, Brian Gustav Hansen, who died suddenly on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at the age of 59. Brian was a caring, big-hearted person with a great sense of humour, adventure, and curiosity who made friends easily and loved to be with his family and friends. Always interested in learning new things, he enjoyed reading and exploring. Brian had a deep interest in and knowledge of music and history, especially World War II, which was sparked by his father’s service in the Danish underground during that war. Brian’s work in construction and his friendships took him to many parts of Western Canada, but he always found his way back to his family in Melfort and Regina. He was blessed to find love and companionship with his soulmate, Brenda, with whom he shared his life in Georgia for three years, before serious health problems necessitated his return to Canada two years ago. Despite his persistent health problems, Brian retained his sense of humour and optimism, and offered friendship and support to others in similar circumstances. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Jorgen and Marjorie; grandparents Gustav and Marie Carlson; and uncle Vern Carlson. Left to mourn are his sisters, Lis (Brian), Courtney (Shawn); and nieces and nephews, Sienna (‘Bubbles’), Stephen, Kirsten, Mackenzie, Christian, Alex, and Victoria. Interment and a celebration of Brian’s life will follow in the spring at the Carrot River Valley Lutheran Church . Brian, may you rest in peace. You were dearly loved. We will miss you so much.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Brian
