Born 1931 in St. Thomas, departed 27 Oct 2019 in Ottawa, peacefully and surrounded by family. Big brother of William Donald (dec) and Patricia Jeanne Watson. Loving husband to Margaret Carol Bycroft (dec) of 51 years. A loving Dad to Paul Richard and wife Anne and their children Meilani Rita Southern and Donald Saunders Southern; and Janet Leigh and husband Robert Taylor and their children Benjamin Robert Taylor and James Andrew Taylor. Former faculty of Algonquin (electronics) and member of Alouette 1 launch team. Longstanding member of Bells Corners United Church (BCUC). Visitation at BCUC, 3955 Old Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Sat, 2 Nov at 10am, followed by funeral service at 11am, same location. He was known for his clever wit, love of the outdoors, especially sailing, kindness to all and service to the Lord.
