Noreen Schaan nee Schappert 1923 2019

Obituary of Noreen Schaan (nee: Schappert)
Noreen died quickly and quietly, like she always wanted, on Friday, October 18, 2019. By her side, holding her hands, stroking her face and telling her she was loved were her two daughters. Noreen was born in Rothbury, SK in 1923, to Phillip and Katherine Schappert. She was predeceased by husband Norbert and son Blair; her sisters and their husbands, Minnie (Andrew) Laidlaw, Laura (Willie) Rathgeber, Anne (Lou) Schutz, and Lizzie (Rudolph) Rathgeber; and brothers Albert, George and Rudy Schappert. Noreen is survived by her two daughters and their families, Cheryl (Vern) Gorr, son Adam (Delaney); and Joanne (Bill) Gehl, sons Richard (Lacey, Lyndon & Grace), Matt (Buffy), and Johnny; sister-in-law Phyllis Schappert; brother-in-law Lloyd Schaan; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Noreen lived her last 3 years at Santa Maria, which she called home. Special thanks to all the nursing staff and support workers (especially those on the 3rd floor) for the compassion and excellent care mom received, right up to her final hour. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, October 28, 2019, in the Auditorium (lower level) at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, 4215 Regina Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Noreen’s memory may be made to “The Santa Maria Foundation”.
