Loyal G. Brace
1928-2019
Loyal G. Brace, 91, of K. E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton
passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Born in McKinnon’s Siding, he was the son of the
late Allen and Hazel (McPhee) Brace.
Loyal was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces –
Air Element – with nearly 30 years’ service, a
former employee of R.R. Harris (2 years) and Manager of La Bonne
Nouvelle Book Shop for 11 years. He was a member of First Moncton
United Baptist Church.
Loyal will be sadly missed by his children, Sylvia Williston
(Dave) of Moncton, NB, Wendy Jones (Rev. Greg) of Quispamsis, NB,
Natalie Shaw (Carl) Boundary Creek, NB, Geoffrey Brace (Pam) of
Moncton, NB; grandchildren, Elise Williston, Eric (Leanne) Williston,
Laura (Dan) O’Rourke, Amy (David) Pike, Molly Jones, Joel
(Monica) Shaw, Tiffany (Andrew) Beckwith, Kristi (Stefan) Purdy, Heidi
(Mark) Moore, Kaitlyn (Adams) Townsend, Emily Brace, Caleb Brace; and
great grandchildren, Cameron, Gavin, Logan O’Rourke, Ella,
James, Charles Pike, Xavier, Olivia, Amelia Shaw, and Oliver and
Lincoln Beckwith. Further survived by a nephew Jerry Brace (Lynne) and
other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of
52 years, W. Louise (Stiles) Brace, September 11, 2011; brothers,
Lorne (1992), Lester (1988), Sandford (1923) and nephew Colin
(2018).
Visitation hours at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain
Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Wednesday, October 30 from 7:00 to 9:00
pm. A service to celebrate and honour Loyal’s life will be
held from First Moncton United Baptist Church on Thursday, October 31
at 10:00 am, with Rev. Dr. Richard Jackson officiating. Reception
following the service. Interment will be in Elgin
Cemetery.
In memory of Loyal and in lieu of flowers, donations to Camp
Wildwood, The Gideons, CBAC or a memorial of the donor’s
