Lilian May Allen (nee Wain)
1930 – 2019
Peacefully and surrounded with love, Lily passed away in hospital on October 8, 2019 in her 90th year.
Beloved wife for over 63 years of Joseph Greenway Allen. Loving and caring mother of Laurie Elizabeth (Andrew Newman), Julie Patricia and the late Susan Jean (David Crowder). Cherished grandmother of Ashley Alison Newman. Dear sister of Doreen (Earl Arnold) and the late Joyce (Graham Jardine). Loved by nieces Heather, Lisa and Lana and her extended Cooney, Bradley and Newman families.
Lily was born in Swanscombe, Kent, England, the eldest daughter of the late William John Wain and Florence May Bobby. Lily came to Canada with her mother and sisters in 1947 at the age of 17. Lily was a caring wife, mother and grandmother, an active church member and a good friend to all who knew her.
A visitation will take place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 20 Young Road, Kanata at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am and a reception in the church hall. Interment will take place at a later date.
