Memorial Donation
We are completely devastated by the loss of our Mom, Helen Piercey ( nee Harview) of Harview’s Lane, St. George’s, born Oct. 1,1942, died October 28th, 2019 of complications of diabetes. Mom was loving and kind to everyone she met. She was a lover of life and adored her family. She will be remembered for her jokes and her compassion and she leaves behind many memories for all who loved her.
She leaves behind three treasured children; Gail (Fred), Harry(Renee) and Mark(Frances); six loving grandsons (Chris, [Jon/Megan], [Mark/Amanda], [Jon/Jess], [Josh/Erica] and Tyler) one special granddaughter (Samantha/Tyler) ; four cherished great-grandsons (Beckett, Wesley, Brooks and Jackson) and a precious one shortly on the way (Cooper); two devoted sisters Eva and Patsy and loved brother Billy; many fond sisters and brothers in law; several nieces and nephews, who were so dear to her heart; many close, life long friends, who kindly sat by her bedside the last few months. In the last five months, Mom was eternally grateful for her two caregivers; (her daughter in law Renee and family friend Arlene Bennett) who treated her with the upmost compassion, love and dignity.
She is predeceased by her husband Kevin; infant daughter Gail; parents William and Catherine Harview; parents in law Archibald and Alice Piercey; brothers Jimmy, Harry and sister Marie.
Wake will be at St. Joseph’s Church, St. George’s. Thursday Oct 31, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00.
Catholic funeral mass will be at St. Joseph’s Church. Friday Nov 1 at 11:00am.
Reception to follow Christian burial at the Parish Hall.
Donations in lieu of flowers: Canadian Diabetes Association.
A special thank you to all doctors, nurses and staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, who were so caring to our mom, treating her like family, in her final days.
Mom is at peace now, no more suffering, she loved and was so dearly loved in return.
