Gwendolyn Hope Dole (Little)
Gwendolyn Hope (Little) Dole, of Ottawa, Ontario passed peacefully on October 7th, 2019. Born in Tusket, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia to the late Barney and Emma (Wood) Little, she was the eighth of ten children. Hope was raised on a family farm in rural Nova Scotia. In her teens and early twenties, she worked as a shop girl in a fashion house in Yarmouth. Just after the war, she married and was an RCAF wife, homemaker, and mother in Dartmouth NS, Trenton ON, Cold Lake AB, and finally Ottawa ON. In later years after her children had started high school, she took a part time job at Charles Ogilvy Limited Ottawa eventually reaching the position of fashion buyer and department manager. In her retirement, she and her husband, Harry, were extensive world travelers and members of the Hylands Golf and Country Club in Ottawa. She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Deborah Ann Furness), Peter (Kimberley Knol) (Pauline Patenaude); her sister, Jocelyn (Bernard Matthews); grandchildren, Mark Konig, Erika Dole (Jason Oschefski), Daniel Dole, Colin Dole; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Harry Dole; her daughter Karan (Hans Konig) (Gordon Moore); her sisters Ardella (Joseph Abbott) (Anthony Cribbs), Gertrude (William Rutledge), Verna (Sidney Shatford), Rubie (Lloyd Cann) (Harold Pierce), Kathleen (George Kidston) (Walter Gray) (Frank Dempster): and her brothers Edward, Elmer (Annie Gavel) (Dorothy), Frank (Jessie) (Jean Collier), Donald (Marina Power). A private family Service will be held at Beechwood Cemetery. In Memoriam donations to the Alzheimer Society appreciated.
