1936-2019
With her family by her side, Gwen Bernard of Tobique First Nation, NB,
passed away peacefully at the Victoria Glen Manor on October 7,
2019.
Gwen was born in Germany on February 18, 1936. She was the daughter of
the late Hilde Schmelcher. Gwen leaves behind her sons, Edgar Gagnon
of Melbourne Beach, FL, Richard “Richie” Bernard (Carol) and
Kelly Bernard (Carole), both of Tobique First Nation, NB; her
grandchildren, Jessica Perley, Lance Paul, Jesse Gagnon, Brett
Bernard, and Kelsey Bernard; her great grandchildren, Darienne
Perley-Francis, Bridgette Perley-Francis, Sara Perley-Francis, Mathias
Francis, Landen Perley-Paul, Aphena Gagnon-Garcia, and Lea
Gagnon-Garcia; and one great great granddaughter, Hazyn
Perley-Francis.
Gwen was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Peter Bernard; her
great grandson, Brady Perley-Francis; along with two sisters and three
brothers.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday from 2-4
and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019
at 1 pm from St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Tobique First Nation, NB.
Father Curtis Sappier celebrating. Interment will follow in the parish
cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the NB Heart and Stroke
Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
