Gertrude’s Obituary
With perfect peace, Gertrude Evelyn Hicks passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, at 92 years of age, on October 2, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband Rev. Sterling Hicks (2007), daughter Eunice Gertrude McCormick (1997) and grandson Luke McCormick (1990). She is survived by her son Grant (Donna Jean), daughters Gwen Redinger, Ellen (Alan) Retzman, and son-in-law Scott (Pam) McCormick. Survived by her many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gertrude is survived by two sisters, Mary Lois (Archie) Bull predeceased, Doris (Byron) Withenshaw (predeceased). Gertrude was predeceased by her parents John and Maggie Moulton and siblings Margaret (Peter) Bodnar, Ruth (Earl) Harris, George (Myrtle) Moulton, survived by Ruth Moulton, Harland (Shirley) Moulton, Daisy (Bill) Herbert. Gertrude was a faithful pastor’s wife, a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was always involved in their ministry, particularly children’s ministries. She will be dearly missed by her family, particularly her children and surviving sisters.
Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris, Ontario on Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery. In Gertrude’s memory, donations to the Global Missions Free Methodist Church (www.fmcic.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
