Elvert “Al”‘s Obituary
HINES, Elvert LeRoy “Al” ~ age 51 of Digby, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Walter Murray and Margaret Faith “Faye” (Burns) Hines. Al was employed as a truck driver with Nautical Seafoods. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to work with his hands. He was known as a “jack of all trades” and was always willing to help others. Al was very social and loved spending time in the company of his friends while enjoying a cold beer. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 26 years, Kathleen (Yohnke); daughters, Emily Hines, Didsbury, AB; Allison Hines (Jared Thibodeau), Digby; Tammy Hines, Digby; sister, Wanda (Joe) McGill, Inglisville; brother, Brian Hines, Halifax; step-brothers, Stuart (Cleo) Bentley, Dartmouth; James (Angela) Bentley, Eastern Passage; step-mother, Nita Hines, Brickton; several nieces and nephews and one great-nephew. Besides his parents, Al was predeceased by his step-sister, Susan Bentley. In keeping with Al’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 3 pm, Monday, October 28th, 2019 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., toll-free 1-855-825-3448, with Rev. Eugene Foster officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Private family interment will be in Whitman Cemetery, Lawrencetown. By request, family flowers only please.
