Virginia “Jean” Gladys Stedel
Virginia “Jean” Gladys Stedel, resident of Hythe, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019, at the Beaverlodge Hospital, at the age of 86 years.
She was born in Bashaw, AB, on March 26, 1933, and was one of seven siblings. Virginia married Paul on July 18, 1951. They resided on a farm south of Valhalla Centre, where they raised their three children.
Virginia will be fondly remembered for her cooking, baking, and beautiful flower beds.
She is survived by her children: Richard (Barb) Stedel, Dianne Boulet, and Roger (Gail) Stedel; brother Ed; sisters Shirley and Margaret; sisters in-law: Ella, Grace and Heidi; as well as nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Virginia was predeceased by her husband Paul; brothers: Ron, Herb (Chrissy/Rosa) and Merv (Irene); brothers in-law: Arnold (Nita), Lorenz, Howard, Fred, Walter, and Ken; sister in-law Ruth; father and mother in-law Julius and Martha; grandson Scott Boulet; and parents Bill and Mary Schneider.
A special thank you to Dr. Crowe and the nursing staff at the Beaverlodge Hospital for the excellent care given during Jean’s stay.
A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, September 23, 2019, at 11:00am, at Valhalla Lutheran Church (9802 100 Ave., Hwy 59, Valhalla Centre, AB). Interment will take place after the service at Valhalla Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital (422-10A St., Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0).
