Obituary for Maureen Leyland (nee Forrester)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mum, Grandma and Nana. She passed away September 21, 2019, surrounded by family and love. Our Mum was predeceased by our Dad Jack Leyland (November 23, 1994), and her parents Aeneas Forrester (d. 1984) and Elizabeth McCartney (d. 1985). She leaves behind her four daughters Maire (David Hastings), Claire (Rob Driver, d. October 5, 2009), Catherine, and Sally (Richard Kaminski). She will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Matthew Leyland (Sarah), Michael Leyland (Mandy), Liam Leyland-Hastings and Oskar Kaminski. She was loving Nana to great-granddaughters Lily and Vera Leyland. She was also loved and will be missed by cousins Yvonne Forrester (Toronto, ON), and Geraldine McDermott (Belfast N. Ireland). Maureen will also be missed by Terry Attwell (family friend). She will be greatly missed by many family and friends around the world.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Covenant House Toronto, ON or a Women’s Shelter in the Hamilton Ontario area.
Celebration of Life to take place Saturday October 5, 2019, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King Street East, Dundas Ontario. (additional parking at the Air Force Club).
