Obituary of Marie Josephine Gagnon
GAGNON- Marie Josephine of Port Colborne, passed away peacefully at Northland Pointe on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the age of 78. Loving mother David (Tammy) Gagnon and Joseph (Karen) Landry, dear grandmother of David Gagnon Jr., Jonathan Gagnon, Loren Landry (Loucks) and Allison Landry, great grandmother to several grandchildren, sister of Dorothy (the late Joseph) Nagy and John (Laurie) Poirier. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Marie was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Helen Poirier, her siblings Irene Guitar, Raymond Poirier and Leo Poirier. She was born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia and had resided in Port Colborne for most of her life. Marie was a seamstress at the Port Colborne Shoe Factory, then had worked for the Levi’s Company in Hamilton for many years. She was an avid Neil Diamond fan and enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Northland Pointe for all of the excellent care Marie received during her stay. Cremation has taken place. The Gagnon family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the Davidson Chapel with Father Peter Walton officiating. A private family interment will take place at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
