Mae Dryden
April 4, 1936 – September 25, 2019
The family of Mae Dryden (McAleer) is saddened to announce her passing at Hospice House Fredericton. Mae was born at South Oromocto Lake, Charlotte County, to Gordon McAleer and Bernice (nee Cropley) McAleer. She is survived by her husband John with whom she spent 61 love-filled years.
Mae was mother to Judy (Bob), Wendell and James (Dawn); grandmother to Megan, Geoffrey, Katie, Samantha, Alex, Mark, Ryan, Emily, Terry and Colin; and great-grandmother to Greyson and Mac.
She is survived by siblings Richard ‘Dick’ McAleer (Norma), Leroy ‘Roy’ McAleer (Lois), Beverley Hendry, and many nieces and nephews. Mae was predeceased by her parents, brother Curtis McAleer and sister Dorothy Thomas.
The family thanks Dr. Bea Sainz and the staff at Hospice House Fredericton for their wonderful end-of-life care, as well as her long-time physician Dr. Ann Collins, and Debbie Comeau and the Extramural team who supported Mae over the past year.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice House Fredericton or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
