Joe Lukawesky of Brooks, beloved husband of the late Vera Lukawesky, passed away in Brooks on Wednesday, September 18th, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Joe was born in Opal, Alberta on January 25th, 1929. As a young man, Joe worked for Burns Packing, Imperial Oil and Edmonton Transit, before beginning a long career with Edmonton Telephones, which later became Telus. Baseball was always Joe’s passion, beginning as a pitcher and later an umpire, as well as District Manager and President of his Little League District. Curling was also another great interest of Joe’s. A Family Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Edmonton.
Cremation is entrusted to Smith Funeral Home Ltd. and Crematorium, Brooks.
