Hilda’s Obituary
Gayton, Hilda May – 95, Springhill, formerly of Pugwash, passed away September 19, 2019, at High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Rufus James and Edith (Wardale) Johnson. Hilda had been an active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Pugwash. Surviving are her sons, Michael (Eva), Dieppe; Peter, Oxford; four grandchildren; one niece, and their families. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Francis Gayton; grandson, James; sister, Dorothy Rose. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, until the funeral time at 11 a.m., in Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash (902) 243-2506. Father Craig Christenson officiating. Burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Oxford. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
