Dorothy “Claudene” Greta Silver – age 86,
of Canning, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019, in the Valley
Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canning, she was a daughter of
the late William and Ethel (Bigelow) Davison. She was the last
surviving member of her family. Claudene had been employed as a plant
worker at Hillaton Foods Limited. She was a loving mother, housewife
and homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold;
daughter, Donna (Gary) Schaffer, Canning; sons, Stephen, Canning;
Andrew (Patricia), Centreville; step-son, Allan Graves, Wolfville;
adopted son, Reverend Ray (Laurie) Fisher, Canning; 10 grandchildren;
16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a
daughter, Juanita Eye; sisters, Mary Evans, Laura Silver and Jean
MacLaren; brothers, Gordon, Earle, Walter, Vernon, Edward, Robert
“Bob” and son-in-law, Vincent Uhlman. Cremation has
taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral
service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday,
September 9, 2019, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville,
Reverend Ray Fisher officiating. Burial will take place at a later
date in the Hillaton Cemetery, Kings County. Donations in memory may
be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a
charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
