Obituary for
Dobr. Avis Lori Maranchuk
On September 20, 2019 Dobr. Avis Lori Maranchuk departed this life suddenly at the age of 51. Avis is greatly missed by her loving husband of 29 years, Reverend Michael; daughter, Alexandra (Adam) Lazaruik; siblings, Phyllis (Jack) Lenderbeck, Sharon (Len) Curle, Patti Werschler (Garry) and Cory Werschler; mother-in-law, Jessie Maranchuk; sisters-in-law, Dobr. Genia (Reverend Roman) Bozyk and Roselle (Doug) Paulsen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Isobelle and Hilmar “Butch” Werschler; father-in-law, Nicholas Maranchuk; and infant brother, Blair.
We will greatly miss her mischievous and goofy spirit. She had a kind heart and loved to bake, sew and crochet things for those around her. Everyone felt like a friend to Avis and enjoyed her shenanigans.
A big thank you to the paramedics who cared for her, the trauma team and ICU staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their unwavering care and tremendous compassion.
Prayer Service Wednesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 5146 – 48 Avenue, Vegreville, Alberta.
Funeral Rite Thursday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwater Pioneer Club, 4916 – 50 Street, Redwater, Alberta with interment in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to Radway Central Committee or Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Redwater.
