Darrell’s Obituary
Thompson, Darrell Kempton – 80, Leicester, passed away Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Russell and Marion (Baird) Thompson. Darrell enjoyed being around horses, whether raising, riding or showing them in the exhibition. He also worked with horses in the woods for many years. Darrell loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Sheila Casey; sons, Greg and Randy; daughter, Kelly (Vaughn) MacDonald; grandchildren, Lindsey (Ryan) Hicks and Danielle; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Elizabeth and Levi; brother, Brian (Laura-Jean); sisters, Lexi (Doug) Letcher; Irene (Gerry) Morgan; sister-in-law, Marilyn Thompson; daughter-in-law, Cathy MacDonald. He was predeceased by brother, Ronal. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2019, all in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902-447-2930).
