Blanche “Bernice” Knox
1922-2019
Knox, Blanche “Bernice” It is with heavy hearts
that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Bernice Knox at the
Kings County Memorial Hospital on Thursday, September 26, 2019, age
97. Bernice was born in Kingsboro, Prince Edward Island on February
9th, 1922 to her late parents Georgia (nee Bruce) and James
Jardine.
Bernice, along with her late husband
Richard Knox, raised their family together in Flat River. Bernice will
be remembered by her five children: James (the late Donna) Knox, Alva
(Carol) Knox, Preston (Muriel) Knox, Nancy (Barry) Beck and Nora
(Jerry) McCarron. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren;
Jamie, Kim, Kanda, Rebecca, Sherrie, Marsha, Tracy, Amanda, Rick,
Jeff, Ryan, Amy, Marla and Jenny; twenty-two great grandchildren, and
one great great grandchild.
Besides her
parents, Bernice was predeceased by her sisters Verna (Bill) Mercer,
Mildred (Ernest) Morrow, Elsie Jardine, Myrtle (Harvey) Poole, Velma
(Murray) Beaton, and brother Hartley Jardine (Barbara), and
daughter-in-law Donna Knox, grandson Joshua Knox and great grandson
Trayton Acton (Knox). Bernice was a social butterfly who loved travel,
card games, gardening, and most of all, spending time with those she
loved. Bernice had a wonderful sense of humor, an abundance of energy,
and a kind heart.
Resting at the Ferguson Logan
Montague Funeral Home on September 28, 2019 with visiting hours
between 5 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on September 29, at
2:30 pm at Ferguson Logan Funeral Chapel. Interment to take place in
the Belfast Cemetery. If so desired, memorial contributors may be made
to the Kings County Memorial Hospital and the Belfast Cemetery
Fund.
