Bernard Albert Boisvenue
Bernard Albert Boisvenue passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the age of 83 years. Beloved Husband of 55 years of Ann Paulette (Hayes) and cherished father of Julie (Chris Kozij), Karen (Jeff Burnside) and Blair (Shannon). Adored by his grandchildren Adam (Kayla) & Griffin Kozij, Shelby & Taylor Burnside and Brendan, Aidan, Sarah & Amelia Boisvenue. Son of the late Sarah Cuerrier and Albert Boisvenue. Predeceased by his sister Estelle Bray and brothers John and Rene Boisvenue. Survived by sisters Lucille Rocque (Al) and Eileen Byrne (Tommy) and brother George Boisvenue. Brother-in-law of Eldred Hayes (Delma), Ron Hayes & Desi Hayes as well as the late Frank Hayes and Mildred Murray. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bernie was a long time bus driver with OC Transpo before retiring in 2000. Earlier in his life he served in the Canadian Army on NATO duty in Germany and he was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) as well as the Royal Canadian Legion. His friendly manner, his work ethic, his perseverance and his duty to and love for his friends and family will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know him. His family wishes to thank his doctors as well as the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Palliative care team at the Civic hospital for the care that Bernie received in his final year. Friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) on Thursday, September 5 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A celebration of life will be held in the Chapel on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11 am, reception to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests that you please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
