Werner Schreiber

Obituary for Werner Schreiber
Beloved Great Opa, Opa, Dad and husband. Passed away at the age of 89 at the home he built in the 1950’s. Immigrated to Canada from Germany as a young man to start a new life after the war. A man of determination and a strong sense of will, he accomplished every aim he set for himself. He was the king of birthdays, a wonderful ballroom dancer, a spirited team Skat player and a generous provider to his children and grandchildren. Lived life and left the planet the way in which he wanted. A sweet and stubborn jokester until the end. He will be greatly missed.
Survived by his best friend, Giselle Gutsche; daughters, Angeline Horsley and Irene Govis; sons-in-law, Jim Horsley and Cal Govis; grandchildren, Nicole and Shawn Horsley, Zack Govis (Samantha Govis) and Nevin St. Onge (Jamie St. Onge); great grandchildren, Ruby and Toby Stephens, Summer, Maverik and Locklyn Govis and Danny, Mia and Jaxon St. Onge; dear friends, Eva Gutsche, Bernie Glover (Jim, Amanda and Rachel Glover) and Madelaine Johnston (Nicole and Tanner Johnston),; and by his extended family in Germany.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Bradford Legion on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 2-4 pm. Join us for a toast to an extraordinary man.
