On August 14, 2019 Rudy passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Rudy will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Gaby, his son Tom (Brenda); and two grandsons, Patrick and Christopher.
Rudy is survived by his brothers Helmut (Diane) and Willi (Betty) both of Edmonton; brothers-in-law Rolf (Heidi) Hanson of Edmonton and Ernst (Ingrid) Hanson of Germany; and numerous nieces and nephews in Edmonton and Germany.
Rudy was predeceased by his wife Natella Nickel; mother Therese Nickel; father Heilmann Nickel; and brothers Gerhard Nickel and Alfred Nickel.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 9155 79 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB. with Pastor George Friedrich officiating. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, 5300 106 St NW, Edmonton, AB.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or a charity of your choice.
