Ross Anthony

Surrounded by his loving family, the homegoing of Ross Anthony occurred peacefully on Tuesday, August 20th at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 22nd, 1938, in Campobello, NB, he was the son of the late Mayford and Alberta (Corey) Anthony. Ross graduated from Vocational School in Saint John after studying Motor Mechanics. He went on to work at Battery & Electric with his brother Bert Anthony before becoming a Police Officer in 1964. He spent 30 years as a member of the Saint John Police Force. Ross was a Charter Member of Forest Hills Baptist Church, involved in several areas of Ministry, Sunday School and Men’s Bible Study. He and his family enjoyed many summers on the Belleisle Bay at their beloved cottage. He enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his family. Ross loved life and always had a song in his heart.
Survived by his loving and devoted wife Jean Anne (Fawcett) of 59 years; daughter Brenda Colquhoun (Doug); son Stephen Anthony (Lesley); cherished grandchildren Sharis Lauzon (Curtis), Alex Colquhoun (Caitlyn), Owen Anthony, Nathan Anthony (Ashley); great grandchildren Colby Lauzon and Lucy Colquhoun as well as several nieces, nephews, close friends Loraine Adams (Robert), Shirley Johnson (Chester) and church family. Besides his parents, Ross was predeceased by his brother Burdell Anthony (Doreen), sister Betty Bilensky (Donald) and twin brother at birth.
A special thank you to physicians and staff of the Nephrology Department at SJRH, Extra Mural, IV Day Hospital, Dr. Sean Dolan and Palliative Care.
As Ross was blessed with the gift of life with having two kidney transplants, the family would like to bring awareness to organ transplantation by asking you to consider becoming an organ donor by signing a donor card and discussing your wishes with family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation at Forest Hills Baptist Church (36 Mountain Road) on Thursday, August 22nd from 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place from the church on Friday, August 23rd at 11 a.m. A private family interment will be held at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Forest Hills Baptist Church Building Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
