Obituary of Ronald Mills
MILLS – Ronald Edwin passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 16, at age 76. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Laurine (nee Sahs); his children Darren (Wendy) Mills of Port Colborne, Mandy (Roger) Collier of Ottawa, Jason (Erika) Mills of The Town of the Blue Mountains; and his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Shawna, Karena, Ella, Elijah, Jack, Colton and Ethan. Predeceased by his sister Doreen May Thompson (2010), and his parents Edwin Stone (1969) and Laura May (nee Brown) (1986). Survived by brother-in-law Allan Thompson. Ron was an automotive body repairman by trade. His career started at Matthews & Moore in Port Colborne and ended at Gillespie Pontiac Buick in Welland. He loved watching hockey, camping at Grundy Lake, playing crokinole with friends, and coaching his sons’ youth baseball teams. He was a dedicated blood donor with 130 donations. His kind-hearted, gentle nature made him a friend to many, a favourite among grandchildren and adored by any dog that crossed his path. Family and friends are invited to visit DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Tuesday August 20, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Davidson Chapel on Wednesday August 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Overholt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Blood Services or a charity of your choosing.
