ACRES, Pearl Elizabeth (née Sample)
May 3rd, 1929 – August 26th, 2019
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear loving mom at the Ruddy Shenkman Hospice. We have lost a precious genuine gem who had a wonderful sense of humour and who had an immense love of and for family, of animals, of the land and farm life itself. She was a long-time resident of Carp for 90 years and lived 70 years on the Acres family farm. Daughter of the late William Ephraim and Margaret Pearl Sample (Hobbs) and wife to the late George Osler Acres. Predeceased by her siblings William (Reta), John, Lawrence, Tom (Doreen), Clarence (Lois), Edna (Floyd) (Frank). She is survived by her only remaining special sister-in-law Mary Sample. She will be greatly missed by her loving children Wanda (Fred), Waneta (late Neil) (late Bruce), Brenda (Steve), Pauline (Lyle), late Stewart and Steven. She leaves behind her 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was known as nanny Pearl to many nieces and nephews as well as, the many children she babysat over the years. A special thank you is extended to all the caregivers from Paramed, especially Angie, to all the medical services provided by Tracy the Paramedic from Carp Medical Centre providing information back to Dr. Dion, the LHIN team care co-ordinators (Leslie, Debbie, and Carol-Anne), Amanda from the Regional Consult Team and all the Palliative Care team at the ACE Unit of the Queensway Carleton Hospital, and at the Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice. On Thursday August 29th 10 a.m. until time of the service in the chapel at 12 p.m. Burial at Huntley Presbyterian Cemetery.
