October 8, 1961 – August 26, 2019
Peacefully in his sleep at the Heart Institute, Ottawa on Monday August 26, 2019. Mike Egan at age 57, beloved son of the late Edward Joseph Egan and Rita MacIsaac Egan. Dear brother of Joanne Tobin (George Barry), Mary Egan (Jean François Léger), Christopher Egan and Janet Egan. Special uncle to Colin Léger, Zoë and Brennan Sutcliffe and the late Xavier Egan. Mike worked for many years in daycare and volunteered at CHEO. He also cared deeply for the staff and residents of his last home at Chartwell New Endinburgh. His innate rapport with children and the elderly was appreciated by many and will be his legacy. Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair& McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor)on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at 11am. Following the service a reception will be held at Chartwell New Edinburgh Residence, 420 MacKay Street, Ottawa at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CHEO in Mike’s memory.
