Obituary of Mary Duerrstein
Duerrstein (nee. Klassen) Mary – Aged 87 died peacefully on August 22, 2019 at the Vineland UM Home, Vineland, Ontario of natural causes. Mary was born on June 16, 1932 in Hanover, Manitoba. The daughter of Frank and Katarina Klassen.
On June 28, 1958 Mary married the love of her life, Hermann Duerrstein who passed July 3, 2011. She was a devoted mother, who loved knitting, crocheting, reading and being Oma to her many grandchildren. She was an active member of the Grantham Mennonite Brethren Church and a devoted follower of her Lord Jesus Christ.
Mary is survived by her children Dan (MaryAnne) Duerrstein and Roselynn (Greg) Reed; her grandchildren Janelle, Joshua, Jordan (Danielle), and Jesslyn Duerrstein and Ian (Emma) and Sarah Reed; her great grandchild Ezekiel Duerrstein; and her sister Tina Heier; and her eight brothers, Peter (Kathy), Harry (Mary), Frank (Theresa), Jake, Henry (Breata), Dan (Elsie), John (Beatrice), Abe Klassen.
A private family interment will be held. Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Mary with her family during visitations at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. on Monday, August 26th 6-8 pm and Tuesday, August 27th from 10-11 a.m. A celebration service will be held at the VINELAND CHAPEL on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations to Multiply (formerly MB Mission) or the Vineland United Mennonite Home would be appreciated by the family.
