Obituary for Mary Joyce (Joy) Paterson
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Joy on August 3, 2019 at Brantford General Hospital, two weeks shy of her 92nd birthday. Predeceased by her husband Ronald James Paterson in 1985. Loving Mother of Christopher (Norma), Maureen (Peter), Sean (Trish), and Ronnie (Susan). Adored and cherished Nana of Nicole (Patrick), Sean, Stephanie (Trevor), Rachel, Travis (Megan), Natalie, Clayton, Connor (Stephanie), Trevor, and Sara, and great-grandmother to Layton, Braelyn, Zailey, William, Declan, Ridley, and Bridget. Dear sister of Helen, Anne (Ross), Jeannie, Pat, Jim (Ann), Joe (Elsa), and sister-in-law of Janet. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Jack, Gloria, Danny and Gerry. Joy had a zest for life, and her kind heart and love of people made her a cherished friend to many. She loved music because you can dance! Sharing a conversation with her was guaranteed to make you laugh and walk away feeling loved. “She was the heart and soul of our family.” A Celebration of Joy’s Life will be held on Sunday August 11, 2019 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Circle of Life Cremation and Burial Centre, 100 King St. EAST, Dundas, ON (additional parking at the Air Force Club). In lieu of flowers, donations to Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation (BCHS) would be greatly appreciated by the family.”
